Robert and Phyllis Leatherman have been well known in the local hospitality industry since they opened a Manner's Big Boy Restaurant in the 1950s, and then later, Michael's Restaurant in downtown Barberton. After dreaming of building a restaurant in their hometown for years, they began to assemble plans to open a restaurant in Wadsworth that would be unlike anything local residents had experienced. On January 10, 2000, the Galaxy opened the doors to the public. Experience dining like never before, where exquisite cuisine and a relaxing, one-of-a-kind environment are just the beginning. Our menu, guided by Executive Chef John Schulze, offers a variety of fresh choices. From sizzling steaks and fresh seafood to tantalizing appetizers, we offer the area’s best American cuisine prepared from scratch by our award-winning chefs. As you sit under the tranquil blue-sky dome with drifting clouds, savor one of our many palate-pleasing entrees such as char-grilled salmon with bernaise or pan-roasted sea scallops and linguini, or spoil yourself with our roasted rack of lamb with a honey mustard and rosemary demi-glace. To complete the experience, try one of our delicious desserts from our in-house bakery, guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth. The Galaxy is an "Award of Excellence" recipient from the Wine Spectator magazine for years 2002-2004. We have over 200 wine selections from regions all over the world to complement each course.
